Newsletter and MailerLite

I use MailerLite to manage my email marketing subscriber list and to send emails to my subscribers. MailerLite is a third-party provider, which may process your data using industry-standard technologies to help me monitor and improve my newsletter.

MailerLite’s privacy policy is available at https://www.mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy.

I only email you if you have signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the end of each newsletter. You can also withdraw your consent through the contact form, and I will remove you.

Website and cookies

The website is hosted with Namecheap and built on WordPress. It uses the Meta Pixel, a tracking tool from Meta (Facebook and Instagram). The pixel sets cookies and sends Meta information about your visit, such as the pages you view, actions you take (like signing up), your IP address and your browser. I use it to measure how well my ads work and to show them to people more likely to enjoy the books. Meta’s privacy policy is at facebook.com/privacy/policy.

It also uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service from Google. It sets cookies and sends Google information about your visit, such as the pages you view, how long you stay, your device and browser, and your approximate location (worked out from your IP address). I use it to see how the site is used and what to improve. Google may process this data outside the UK. Google’s privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

The pixel and Google Analytics only run if you accept cookies in the banner on the site. You can change your choice at any time and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Other services

  • StoryOrigin: I use it to deliver free stories and ARCs and to run reader-group promotions. If you sign up through it, it receives your email address under its own privacy policy.
  • Book retailers: if you buy or borrow my books from Amazon or another store, that store is responsible for your purchase data. I see only anonymised sales and page-read figures, not who you are.

These services have their own privacy policies, and I am not responsible for how they handle your data.

How long I keep your data

I keep your subscriber details until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them. After you unsubscribe, MailerLite may keep a minimal record so that I do not email you again by mistake.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask me to:

  • tell you what data I hold about you and give you a copy
  • correct data that is wrong
  • delete your data
  • restrict or stop me using your data
  • move your data to another provider

Where I rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, use the contact form on this website. If you are unhappy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page. Last updated: 10/10/26.
